Weaving Springtime, 2022

Weaving springtime is a project run together with curator Mattie O'Callaghan with support from the Hoxton Trust. It is a collaborative project between artists, the local community, gardeners and all our ecologies. Held in the community garden, it encourages collaboration and conversation in this space and a consideration of our collective relationships to layers of soil. Using donated waste fabric - cut up and bundled into balls of yarn - we invited people from the community and anyone passing through the space to come and join us in weaving these through a giant loom strung between two trees.

The project also included repainting the community stage, which is frequently used for local events, performances and gatherings.
